01. Scope and contact

This policy covers the HelloHAM iOS app and related reference services provided by DY Mobile. It explains information handling for QSO logs, QSL cards, repeater references, location and weather, satellite tracking, and AR guidance.

Basic features currently work without account registration or sign-in. Callsigns and nicknames are self-entered station information, not identity, operator-certificate or station-license verification. The app contains no advertising or third-party behavioral analytics SDK and does not perform cross-app advertising tracking.

Privacy, data-rights and support contact: hihamer@163.com.

02. Information stored on your device

The following information is primarily stored in your iPhone app storage. You enter or import it, or generate it while using the relevant feature:

  • QSO records: contacted and station callsigns, date/time, frequency, mode, signal reports, notes, and optional place names, grids, coordinates, altitude and weather snapshots.
  • Station profile and preferences: callsign, nickname, favorite repeaters, display preferences and night mode.
  • Observation information: satellite observer location, altitude, selected satellite, elevation filter and local reminders.
  • Offline references: public repeater directories, approximate region coordinates and satellite orbit caches.

Downloading references or updating orbits does not automatically upload your logs, station profile, favorites or observer location. This version does not provide HelloHAM-operated log cloud synchronization or automatically store this content in CloudKit. iOS backups and files you choose to save to iCloud Drive are controlled by your system settings and chosen service.

03. Free sharing and historical local records

This version lets you create and share QSL images without watermarks for free. There is no trial period, paid feature or watermark-removal eligibility restriction. The app does not create, read or update a first-use timestamp for sharing eligibility, send it to servers or synchronize it through iCloud.

If you used an early test version, your device Keychain may still retain its earlier first-use record. This release does not use it to restrict sharing or actively read, update or upload it. It may remain independently of app uninstallation.

04. System permissions and purposes

Permission / capabilityPurposeIf declined or disabled
Location while in use, altitude and compassOptional station position and grid, nearby/city repeater filtering, satellite passes and pointing. Nearby distances are calculated locally.Basic logging remains available. You can set an observer location manually or search repeaters by region.
Camera and device motionOn-device AR camera view and direction guidance.AR camera guidance is unavailable; numeric azimuth/elevation and pass predictions remain available.
NotificationsSatellite pass reminders you set, delivered as iOS local notifications. No alerts are delivered; you can still view pass windows.

The app does not use background location, request microphone access or record audio. AR camera frames are not saved as photos/videos or uploaded. You can change permissions in iPhone Settings; declining an optional permission does not prevent unrelated features.

05. Apple maps, place names and weather

When you use maps, identify your city, resolve place names or request weather, Apple MapKit, Core Location geocoding and WeatherKit process the map region, location and technical information needed for the request. Weather uses the selected location. Returned place names and weather can be saved as a QSO snapshot when you use those features.

Repeater distance and satellite observer calculations run on your device. Observer coordinates are not sent to repeater or orbit reference endpoints. Apple services process requests under the Apple Privacy Policy and their applicable service terms.

Weather is attributed to Apple Weather. The app displays Apple-provided branding and weather legal links. Data may be delayed or temporarily unavailable; recording a historical QSO does not present current weather as historical weather.

06. Online queries, sources and technical logs

The app requests public repeater/orbit references from HelloHAM services. If orbit services are unavailable, it may query public CelesTrak or SatNOGS endpoints directly. Queries do not include your logs, nickname or satellite observer position. Providers still process IP addresses and other information necessary for network connections.

The application server logs request ID, method, path, status and duration; proxy infrastructure may maintain additional access logs.Reference delivery, rate limiting, security and troubleshooting.

Technical logs are used for service operation, security and troubleshooting, not advertising profiles. We limit retention to information necessary for these purposes and delete or anonymize it when no longer needed, subject to applicable legal retention requirements. Hosting, proxy and external-service rules can differ. Contact our support email for information relevant to your request.

When you open a source link, Apple legal link or another external website, the recipient processes the request under its own policies.

07. Export, sharing and support emails

You can export ADIF, QSL images and full backups through the iOS share sheet and choose recipients. Exports may include callsigns, nickname, contact times, notes, grids and precise location. Full backups may also include profile, favorites and historical local records. Review files before sharing and avoid exposing sensitive information about yourself or others.

When you contact hihamer@163.com, we process your email address, message, device/app version and any screenshots or files you voluntarily attach to respond and troubleshoot. Send only necessary information; do not send Apple ID passwords, device passcodes or unrelated identity documents. Support information is retained for handling the request, then deleted or anonymized when no longer needed, unless law requires otherwise.

08. Personal repeaters, submissions and future features

Personal repeater and public-submission entry points are hidden in this release; the app does not initiate submission requests. Historical local records from early test versions may remain on your device or in backups you export.

This policy describes currently provided features. It does not indicate availability of callsign identity verification, escrow trading, radio programming, voice entry or third-party QSO certification. If accounts, cloud synchronization, submissions, transactions or other new data uses are added, we will update disclosures and obtain required authorization before enabling them.

09. Retention, security and your controls

Local logs, profile and caches remain until you delete, change, replace or clear them. Keychain records may remain independently of app uninstallation. You can delete logs, remove location/weather snapshots, clear the observer location and revoke optional permissions in Settings. Local deletion or uninstallation does not automatically delete exported files, recipient copies or sent emails.

We use measures including iOS app isolation and HTTPS, and restrict access to service logs. No storage or transmission is guaranteed absolutely secure. Protect your device, system accounts and exported files.

Contact hihamer@163.com to request information about, access to, correction or deletion of personal information held by our services, or to exercise other rights provided by applicable law. We may request necessary, proportionate verification to prevent inappropriate disclosure or deletion. We cannot remotely read or operate your local logs, location or Keychain, but can provide instructions for local controls. Requests are handled within applicable legal time limits; we explain if a request cannot be fulfilled.

10. Children and policy updates

If you are below the age at which you can independently consent under local law, use the app with a parent or guardian and avoid supplying unnecessary personal information in records, sharing or emails. Radio operating eligibility and age requirements are governed by applicable rules. Guardians can contact our support email about relevant information.

We may update this policy as features or applicable requirements change. The page shows its update date. Material changes to data purposes, categories or recipients will be disclosed through appropriate means, and renewed consent obtained where required.
